- Uninstalling a "Panel Bed": If your Panel Bed needs to be un-installed or moved, please carefully follow the steps below to uninstall:
- Place moving blankets, etc. on the floor directly in front of the cabinet
- Open the bed, and remove the mattress, while holding the panel down
- We also recommend also removing the handles, so the panel can be placed down onto a flat surface
- With the panel held mostly down by a helper, remove the spring covers
- Lock the panel open using the Arm Locks
- Remove bolt #2 from both sides of the frame
- Loosen bolt #3 from both sides but leave the nut on the bolt (see step 9). Do NOT fully remove this bolt!
- Remove the panel by tilting the foot inward slightly and lifting up and out at an angle, enough to clear the front toe.
- Set Panel Aside if possible. Be careful as this will be very heavy.
- Unlock the Lift Mechanism Arms (steel tube required - be VERY careful!)
- Remove the screws holding the cabinet to the studs.
- Unless the cabinet is only being moved sideways on the same wall, it should be disassembled. Proceed below:
- Place the front corners of the cabinet on a blanket, then tilt the cabinet onto its face.
- Disassemble the cabinet, being CAREFUL to not allow the front toe and headboard especially to fall
